Unsolicited submissions of fiction, poetry, essays, plays, and artwork will be accepted in the months of January and July of each year. We are not responsible for manuscripts or files not submitted during these dates. Please submit to submissions@springhousejournal.com. SPR will not be able to answer individual requests for information about submission status. We accept simultaneous submissions if notified immediately when your work is accepted elsewhere. We request that unsolicited submissions be submitted separately by genre and follow the following guidelines: poetry (up to 3 poems); fiction (7,500 words or less); essays or creative nonfiction (7,500 words or less); plays (30 pages or less); and artwork (up to 8 images). Art must be submitted in one of the following formats: jpeg, gif, or pdf; each file's maximum dimensions should not exceed 1,500 pixels. For video or other media, please send a link. For prose, our preference is to receive single-spaced .doc files (not .docx) in "Times" 12-point plain text (no headers or footers). We strive to respond within six months of receipt of the submission.
